The project suggests a sustainable neighborhood in which, according to the tenets of ‘complex sustainability’, reduced energetic consumptions and emissions dovetail with well-being and comfortable lifestyles. The volumes stretch along two lines shaped like the double helix of the DNA thus designing an organic arrangement. In the areas where the two lines of the helix overlap will be placed three squares, connected with each other in accordance to the Italian traditional urban patterns. The buildings, covered with a shield of technologically advanced materials, will be separated by selective partitions thus creating a modular bioclimatic system and enabling thermic exchange between inner and outer space.
