Commissioned by the Beijing municipal authorities, this project was an occasion for an in-depth analysis of the issues of urban sustainability in modern-day China. The development of the new Huai Rou was grounded in sustainable planning principles, applied through the Design Concepts. Town structure, green areas, urban layout, functional mix and mobility are the project’s strong points.
